On May 16, 2020, a dispute over money tragically escalated, leading to the death of 21-year-old Jayla King in Jonesboro, Georgia. Earlier in the day, Zion Humphreys had posted a threatening message on Instagram directed at King concerning a financial disagreement. Later, King drove Humphreys to an apartment complex in Jonesboro.
