In the spring of 2021, the life of 31-year-old Deanna Fuller, a mother of six with another child on the way, was tragically cut short in Union City, Georgia. On the evening of May 16th, police responded to a 911 call from the Premier Club Apartments on Highpoint Road, where they found Fuller with a fatal gunshot wound to her head. She was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, but succumbed to her injuries. Neighbors reported hearing several gunshots but did not witness the shooting itself. Investigators, however, located a single 9mm shell casing in a grassy area near the apartment.
The investigation quickly focused on Deanna Fuller's boyfriend, Joshua Fisher, with whom she lived along with their infant daughter and his father, Trevor Fisher. Initially considered a person of interest, Joshua Fisher was later charged with murder, battery, damage to property, and obstruction of a 911 call in connection with Deanna's death. Authorities believe that both Joshua and Trevor Fisher were present when Deanna was shot. It is alleged that instead of rendering aid, the two men left her wounded in the apartment and proceeded to a party. It is also believed that one of them made a brief 911 call to report the shooting as they departed the scene.
While Joshua Fisher remained at large and was considered armed and dangerous, his father, Trevor Fisher, was arrested and charged with obstruction after being questioned by police when he returned to the apartment. Deanna's sister recalled seeing a gash on Deanna's head the last time she saw her alive and described Joshua Fisher as being controlling. The couple's infant child was found unharmed and was placed in the care of Deanna's sister. Her five other children were in foster care at the time of her death.
