On a summer afternoon in McDonough, Georgia, a dispute at a local flea market turned deadly, ending the life of 54-year-old Oliver Louis Williams Jr. An African American male, Williams was a vendor at the Peachtree Peddler's Flea Market & Antique Centre, where the tragic events unfolded on July 25, 2021.
Williams was known for his friendly and kind demeanor by those who frequented the market. On that Sunday, an argument erupted between Williams and another vendor, 39-year-old Larry Favors Jr. from Covington. The two men occupied neighboring booths near the entrance of the bustling market. The verbal altercation quickly escalated, and Favors fatally shot Williams.
The Henry County Police Department responded to the scene and promptly arrested Larry Favors Jr. in connection with the shooting. He was taken into custody and subsequently charged with murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and reckless conduct for his role in the death of Oliver Williams. Favors is being held at the Henry County Jail without bond as the legal proceedings against him continue.
