In the evening hours of February 12, 2022, a tragedy unfolded on the 1100 block of East 54th Street in Savannah, Georgia, that would cut short the life of a young man. Burnell Scott, a 15-year-old African American male, was discovered outside a residence with life-threatening gunshot wounds. The Savannah Police Department was alerted to the scene around 7:20 p.m. by a ShotSpotter notification.
