On a tragic Friday evening in Valdosta, Georgia, the life of 55-year-old Pansy Fulton was cut short in an act of violence that stunned her community. An African American female, Fulton was a mother and grandmother, known for her love of cooking, dressing up, and being the life of the party. Her vibrant presence was extinguished on July 22, 2022, inside a residence on Euclid Circle.
That night, at approximately 10:33 p.m., the Valdosta Police Department received a chilling 911 call. The caller reported a possible homicide, relaying that a relative had confessed to killing his girlfriend. Officers were dispatched to the scene, where they encountered a man walking out of the house. This man was identified as 70-year-old George Tucker, an African American male who was in a relationship with Pansy Fulton.
Tucker was immediately detained by the officers without any resistance. Upon entering the home, law enforcement discovered a grim scene. Pansy Fulton was found inside, having sustained an apparent gunshot wound. Despite any efforts to save her, she was pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation that followed revealed a domestic dispute that had escalated to a fatal conclusion.
Detectives determined that during a verbal argument, George Tucker had retrieved a firearm and shot Pansy Fulton. The motive behind the argument was not made public.
