In the Ashview Heights neighborhood of Atlanta, on a Sunday afternoon in November, the course of Dangelo Rogers' life was tragically cut short. On November 13, 2022, the 46-year-old man was discovered inside a vehicle on Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard, suffering from a critical gunshot wound. Witnesses in the area had flagged down Atlanta police officers who were conducting a traffic stop nearby, alerting them to the gravely injured man.
Rogers was rushed to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
Investigators believe the shooting occurred around the corner from where Rogers was found, near the intersection of Abbott and Parsons streets. His arrest was the result of a collaborative effort between the Atlanta police, the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office, and the U.S. Secret Service. Following his capture, Parks was booked into the Fulton County jail. Online records indicate that he has a history of drug and assault-related arrests dating back to the late 1980s.
