In the waning days of 2022, just two days before Christmas, a sense of tragedy pierced the festive season in southwest Atlanta. On December 23rd, 53-year-old Arthur Heard, a Black/African American man, was found deceased. His body was discovered lying face down on Holderness Street after firefighters had been called to the area for an unrelated blaze.
Upon their arrival, authorities determined that Heard had been the victim of a violent crime, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
The investigation into his death was immediately launched by the Atlanta Police Department. Despite the passage of time, the case officially remains under investigation.
