Edward Adolphus George, a 40-year-old police officer from Saint Petersburg, Florida, tragically lost his life on September 16, 1908. George was serving as a constable for the First District at the time of his death. The incident occurred at the St. Petersburg Police Station, where George was standing at a desk when a fellow officer arrived with a prisoner arrested on a minor charge.
