Willie M. Langston, a 24-year-old white male, served as the Sheriff of Leon County, Florida. On March 19, 1909, he was tragically killed while attempting to apprehend an escaped convict from Georgia. The incident occurred at a turpentine camp near Spring Hill, Florida.
