Ignacio Antinori, born on February 17, 1885, in Palermo, Sicily, was a prominent figure in the early narcotics trafficking networks in Florida. He was regarded as the first boss of the Tampa crime family, later known as the Trafficante crime family. By the 1930s, Antinori had become one of the largest heroin traffickers in the United States, establishing a drug pipeline from Marseille, France, through Cuba, and into Tampa, Florida.
