Christine Chubbuck, a 29-year-old television news reporter, tragically died by suicide on July 15, 1974, in Sarasota, Florida. She was working for WXLT-TV, now known as WWSB, and was hosting her community affairs talk show, "Suncoast Digest," when the incident occurred.
