Sydney A. Gans, aged 64, tragically lost his life on July 17, 1974, in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida. The incident began when Sydney and his wife, Lillian Gans, were kidnapped by Thomas Knight, who later changed his name to Askari Abdullah Muhammad. Knight approached Sydney at his place of business, armed with an automatic rifle, and forced him to drive home to pick up Lillian.
