Deputy Sheriff Stephen Saboda, aged 35, tragically lost his life on November 6, 1982, in DeLand, Florida. Saboda was a dedicated member of the Volusia County Sheriff's Office and was part of the SWAT team. On the fateful day, he responded to a hostage situation at a residence on Oak Park Drive. The suspect had already shot and wounded his girlfriend and another deputy, prompting the SWAT team to intervene.
