Detective Sergeant Steven Ernest Bauer, a 39-year-old white male, tragically lost his life on January 3, 1992, in North Miami, Florida. Bauer was working an off-duty, uniformed security detail at a bank located at 13490 NW 7th Avenue. While escorting two bank tellers to their drive-through windows, he was ambushed by five men who shot him in the neck.
