Mark Bretz, aged 36, tragically lost his life on February 9, 1996, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was one of the victims in a horrific mass shooting carried out by Clifton McCree, a former beach maintenance worker who had been dismissed from his job over a year prior.
