Kyle Mathew "AppleJax" Spirit, an 8-year-old boy from Kenansville, Florida, tragically died on November 14, 2001, in a hunting accident. Kyle was accidentally shot by his father, Don Spirit, during a hunting trip to the Three Lakes Wildlife Management Area. The incident occurred when Don Spirit was showing his sons, Kyle and Josh, rust on the muzzle of his high-powered Browning rifle. The rifle unexpectedly discharged, hitting Kyle in the head.
