Christina Sneary, a 14-year-old girl from Ferry Pass, Florida, tragically lost her life on August 3, 2011, due to a gunshot wound. Christina, who was developmentally disabled, was shot by her older foster sister, Elena Rendell, during an argument over a cellphone. The incident occurred at their home while their mother, Troyce Sneary, was out. Elena, who was 17 years old at the time, retrieved a 9mm handgun from a shelf and shot Christina in the neck.
