Zachariah James Tipton, a 40-year-old resident of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, tragically lost his life on June 26, 2014, in a shooting incident outside Nippers Beach Grille. The altercation that led to his death began as a verbal dispute between two motorcycle clubs, the Black Pistons Motorcycle Club, to which Tipton belonged, and the Iron Order Motorcycle Club. The confrontation quickly escalated into physical violence, culminating in Tipton being shot by Kristopher Stone, a member of the Iron Order.

The investigation into Tipton's death revealed that Stone acted in self-defense. According to the State Attorney's Office, Stone was being beaten by Tipton and two other individuals during the altercation. Surveillance footage and numerous witness accounts supported Stone's claim that he was in imminent danger and feared for his life. Stone, who had a permit for the firearm used in the shooting, remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.

Despite the family's demands for justice and multiple protests, the State Attorney's Office ultimately decided not to file criminal charges against Stone. The decision was based on the evidence indicating that Stone was defending himself against a coordinated attack. The investigation concluded that Stone's actions were justified under the circumstances, and no further charges were pursued against anyone involved in the incident.

The case drew significant attention and sparked controversy, particularly among Tipton's family and friends, who continued to seek answers and accountability. The incident highlighted the tensions between rival motorcycle clubs and raised questions about the use of deadly force in self-defense situations.
