Jerry Dwight Brown, a 41-year-old African American man, was fatally shot by Pasco County deputies on July 1, 2014, in Zephyrhills, Florida. The incident occurred during a drug bust operation outside a tire store. Brown was suspected of selling prescription pills, and the operation was part of a monthslong investigation into his activities.
