Donald J. Avery, a 17-year-old male from Saint Petersburg, FL, tragically lost his life on October 11, 2014. The incident occurred on the 34th Street South pedestrian overpass, where Avery was found with a gunshot wound to the upper body. A passerby heard the gunshot around 2:40 a.m. and discovered Avery on the ground, subsequently calling 911. Despite being rushed to Bayfront Hospital, Avery was pronounced dead from his injuries.
