The incident that led to his death began with an altercation at a Waffle House located on Boatways Road. According to reports, Dakota Fields and his friends, who were intoxicated, verbally confronted Jehrardd Williams, a 28-year-old man who was legally carrying a .40-caliber Smith and Wesson pistol.
