Keyonda Denise Collier, a 33-year-old woman from Quincy, Florida, tragically lost her life on April 21, 2015, which was also her birthday. Collier's death was a result of a violent incident at her residence on West Clark Street. Her body was discovered with her hands and feet bound, indicating a brutal and premeditated act. The discovery was made after her boyfriend's mother, concerned by a mysterious text message and the lack of response to birthday greetings, contacted the Quincy Police
Department. Upon arrival, officers found Collier's body and two juvenile children, also bound and gagged, in the home.
The primary suspect in this case was Gregory Sapp Jr., who was arrested shortly after the incident. Sapp, who had recently been released from prison on March 18, 2015, after serving a five-year sentence for aggravated battery of a pregnant victim, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, and felony battery, was apprehended by police after attempting to flee the scene. He was charged with first-degree murder, false imprisonment, and resisting an officer without violence. Sapp confessed to the murder during police interrogation.
