On January 24, 2016, in Fort Myers, Florida, 16-year-old Montana Ann Modlin was tragically killed in a planned murder-suicide orchestrated by her mother, Tammy Jo Modlin, and Tammy's boyfriend, Patrick Sean Carlopoli. The sequence of events began with the couple killing the family's dog. Tammy then fatally stabbed her 3-year-old daughter, Jeanne Carlopoli, before shooting Montana.
