Ethan's friend, Sines, had organized a drug deal with Baker, during which Baker stole $260 worth of Xanax. This incident prompted Ethan to seek retribution for his friend. Surveillance footage showed Ethan exiting a vehicle and entering Baker's car before being shot as he attempted to leave.
