Johnkevius Carey, a 22-year-old resident of Sanford, Florida, tragically lost his life on May 24, 2016, in a fatal shooting incident. The shooting occurred on Sixth Street, in front of an apartment complex filled with families. According to reports, a 911 caller informed the police that the shooters fled the scene in a car after the incident. The police pursued the vehicle, which eventually crashed after a brief chase.
