Jeremy was also an active member of the Southwest Florida British Car Club and the British American Club, where he served as president for several years. He was deeply loved by his family and friends, who remember him for his contagious laugh, uplifting spirit, and dedication to helping others.
On the evening of June 5, 2016, Jeremy Taylor was fatally shot while riding his motorcycle on Skyline Boulevard in Cape Coral. The shooter, identified as 31-year-old Christopher Michael Moran, used a shotgun to kill Taylor. Following this incident, Moran drove to a nearby Circle K store on Cape Coral Parkway, where he shot and killed another victim, 26-year-old Sean Strickland, who was working as a clerk at the store. Moran also injured a customer, Richard Huwiler, who survived the attack. The police quickly responded to the scene and located Moran's vehicle at the intersection of Skyline and Cape Coral Parkway. After a brief confrontation, Moran was shot and killed by the officers.
