Cory James Connell, a 21-year-old from Orlando, Florida, tragically lost his life on June 12, 2016, during the horrific mass shooting at the Pulse nightclub. Connell, who was a student at Valencia College and worked at Publix, had aspirations of becoming a firefighter. On the night of the shooting, he was at the nightclub celebrating with his girlfriend, Paula Andrea Blanco, and members of her all-female football team.
