Kenneth Michael Cuevas, a 27-year-old male from Riverview, Florida, tragically lost his life on October 14, 2016, in a road rage incident in Brandon, Florida. The incident occurred around 6:30 PM on Bloomingdale Avenue near Kings Avenue. According to reports, Cuevas exited his vehicle and approached another car at a red light. An argument ensued between Cuevas and the other driver, identified as Michael Hayes, a 47-year-old male from Valrico. Both men were armed, and during the confrontation, shots were fired, resulting in Cuevas being critically injured. He was rushed to a local hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation into the shooting. Hayes remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Initial reports indicated that the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident that had escalated moments before the fatal encounter. Witnesses stated that the two men had a prior altercation while driving, which led to the deadly confrontation at the traffic light.

As the investigation progressed, authorities confirmed that both Cuevas and Hayes were armed at the time of the incident. Despite the tragic outcome, no charges were immediately filed against Hayes. The case remained under active investigation, with law enforcement continuing to gather evidence and interview witnesses to determine the exact sequence of events and whether any legal actions would be pursued.
