Jeffrey Todd Aaron Jr., a 26-year-old resident of Ocala, Florida, tragically lost his life on March 1, 2017. The incident occurred in Silver Springs Shores, where Aaron was shot multiple times. He was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center with three gunshot wounds to his upper body but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The Medical Examiner's Office ruled his death a homicide.
The investigation into Aaron's death led to the arrest of 19-year-old Kasaan Kalik Patterson. According to reports, the shooting took place following an argument between Aaron and Patterson at a residence on Pine Course Loop. Witnesses stated that Aaron had been yelling at his cousin, prompting her to pack her belongings. During this time, Patterson, who was the cousin's boyfriend, arrived at the scene, and a confrontation ensued, resulting in Patterson firing multiple shots at Aaron.
Detectives found significant evidence at the crime scene, including shell casings, broken glass, blood stains, and a bullet hole in the garage door. Surveillance footage from a nearby home captured the incident, showing Patterson and Aaron in close proximity before the shots were fired. Patterson was later apprehended by authorities and charged with murder. He was booked into the Marion County Jail but was released on bond shortly after.
