A young Black woman's life was tragically cut short in the spring of 2015. Umika Smith, a 24-year-old from Baltimore, Maryland, was killed in a shooting on Saturday, May 23, 2015. The incident that claimed her life took place in the southwestern district of the city, leaving a community to mourn her untimely death.
