Ashley Francois, a 24-year-old Black woman, was fatally shot on October 24, 2017, at the Homestead Colony Apartments in Homestead, Florida. The incident occurred around 2:47 p.m. while she was standing on a second-floor breezeway. Witnesses reported hearing six or seven gunshots and saw Francois collapse in front of an apartment door, with blood on the wall.
