Derrick Lacarl Hill, a 37-year-old African American man, tragically lost his life on October 28, 2017, in Jacksonville, Florida. Derrick was attending a street party in the 2800 block of Fleming Street when he was shot in the back as he walked away from the suspect. The incident occurred around 9:50 p.m., and Derrick was pronounced dead at the scene.
