Vontay Eugene Silas, a 26-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on November 11, 2017, in Leesburg, Florida. The incident occurred around 12:17 a.m. at the intersection of Washington Street and East Street. Upon arrival, Leesburg Police Department officers found Silas lying unresponsive in the middle of the intersection. He had been shot four times and was pronounced dead at Leesburg Regional Medical Center.
