On that fateful day, he was shot in front of his home, located near the intersection of Booker Street and 3rd Avenue. The incident occurred around 4 p.m., and despite immediate medical attention, Johntreavean was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
The investigation revealed that the shooting stemmed from a previous dispute between Johntreavean and another teenager, Erien Dah’mir Jaquez Hampton, who was 17 years old at the time. The conflict reportedly involved a disagreement over a girl. On the day of the shooting, Hampton confronted Johntreavean near his home. Witnesses reported that Hampton, who was barefoot and wearing a jacket despite the warm weather, shot Johntreavean and then fled the scene. He was later apprehended by the police near a home on Nova Terrace without incident.
