Amarilyss Martinez, an 8-year-old Hispanic girl, tragically lost her life on June 24, 2019, in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The young girl, along with her step-grandfather, Felix Rivera, was shot and killed in a shocking incident that left the community in mourning. The shooting occurred at the Waterleaf Townhomes apartment complex, where Amarilyss lived with her family.
