Enrique Munoz Blanco, a 38-year-old Hispanic male, was tragically killed on August 31, 2019, in Royal Palm Beach, Florida. The incident occurred during a home invasion at his residence on the 900 block of Linda Court. According to reports, Blanco and his fiancée were asleep in their bedroom when they were awakened by a loud noise coming from the living room. Blanco went to investigate and was shot by the intruder, who had broken into the house. Despite being wounded, Blanco managed to return to the bedroom and inform his fiancée that he had been shot before collapsing from a gunshot wound to his chest.
The intruder, described as wearing a black hoodie and a skeleton mask, then confronted Blanco's fiancée, who pleaded for her life before fleeing the house. Neighbors, alerted by the noise and the fiancée's screams, witnessed the suspect fleeing the scene on a bicycle. One neighbor, armed with a gun, fired at the suspect, hitting him in the leg. The suspect, later identified as 20-year-old Javier Medina Tamoya, was apprehended by the police and found in possession of stolen jewelry from Blanco's home. Tamoya was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center for treatment of his gunshot wound and subsequently faced charges of homicide, armed burglary, robbery, and home invasion.
The investigation revealed that Tamoya had targeted Blanco's home, and his actions led to a swift response from law enforcement. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office handled the case, and Tamoya's arrest brought some measure of justice to the grieving family. The case highlighted the dangers of home invasions and the importance of community vigilance in responding to such threats.
