Shatorria Manuel-Francois, a 26-year-old resident of Palm Springs, Florida, tragically lost her life to gun violence on April 24, 2020. On that fateful morning, she was on her way to work when she was fatally shot in the area of 463 Springdale Circle. The Palm Springs Police Department responded to reports of shots fired around 8:11 a.m. and found Shatorria with gunshot wounds. She was immediately transported to St.
Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The initial investigation suggested that Shatorria might have known her assailant, as there was no indication of a broader threat to the community. Despite this lead, the shooter managed to flee the scene, and the case remains unsolved. Shatorria's death was particularly poignant as her father, Torrey Manuel, had also been a victim of gun violence, having been shot to death on New Year's Day in 2003 when Shatorria was just nine years old.
In the years following her death, the Palm Springs Police Department has continued to seek information that could lead to the resolution of the case. A reward of $9,500 has been offered for any information that could help identify and apprehend the shooter. Despite these efforts, no significant leads have emerged, and the investigation remains open.
