Sofia Davila, a 19-year-old Hispanic female, tragically lost her life on July 22, 2020, in Lake Worth, FL. Sofia and her 20-year-old sister, Rebeca Davila, were both victims of a brutal double homicide at their home in the Lantana area. The perpetrator was identified as Anthony Ashan Stoutt, Sofia's ex-boyfriend, who had a documented history of domestic violence and abuse.

The events leading to the tragic deaths began with a series of escalating violent incidents involving Stoutt. Rebeca had previously filed a restraining order against Stoutt in September 2019, citing his threats to kill anyone who sought legal protection against him. Despite the restraining order, Stoutt continued to harass and threaten the Davila sisters. On the morning of July 22, 2020, neighbors reported hearing horrified screams and gunshots coming from the Davila residence. When authorities arrived, they found Sofia and Rebeca dead from gunshot wounds.

Following the murders, Stoutt fled the scene, prompting a manhunt. He was later spotted driving a white Honda Accord on I-95 near St. Augustine. A high-speed chase ensued, during which Stoutt's vehicle was disabled by stop sticks deployed by law enforcement. As the car came to a stop, deputies heard a single gunshot. Stoutt was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

The case highlighted significant failures in the system meant to protect victims of domestic violence. Despite multiple reports and a restraining order, Stoutt was able to continue his pattern of abuse, ultimately leading to the deaths of Sofia and Rebeca. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office conducted a thorough investigation, but the tragic outcome underscored the need for more effective measures to protect individuals from domestic violence perpetrators.
