Arrington L. Veargis Jr. was tragically killed on August 15, 2020, in a shooting incident in Miami-Dade County's Goulds neighborhood. The shooting occurred near the intersection of Southwest 114th Court and Southwest 214th Street. Alongside Veargis, another victim, Demetrius D. Campbell, also lost his life in the same incident. The shooting took place around 2:50 p.m., and a 17-year-old girl was also wounded and subsequently taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital South for treatment.
