Johan Gonzalez Quesada, a 26-year-old Hispanic male, was found dead on December 5, 2020, in Opa-locka, Florida. His body, along with that of 50-year-old Osmar Oliva, was discovered in the yard of an abandoned house at 1801 Rutland Street. Both men had been tied up, beaten, and shot execution-style. A third victim, who survived the ordeal, was found in critical condition and airlifted to a trauma unit.
The Miami-Dade Police Department reported that the victims were kidnapped, tortured for hours in a truck, and then shot in the head before being dumped in the yard.
The investigation revealed that the masked assailants were after drugs, jewelry, and cash. Johan Gonzalez Quesada and Osmar Oliva were both truckers and had previously been involved in cargo theft allegations. Quesada was awaiting trial for possession of stolen goods at the time of his death. The brutality of the crime shocked the community, with family members expressing their disbelief and grief.

Three convicted felons were identified as the perpetrators: James Daniels, Frederick Rudolph, and Herbert Barr. Daniels and Rudolph were found guilty of multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit kidnapping resulting in death and kidnapping resulting in death. Barr had already pleaded guilty to kidnapping. The sentencing for Daniels and Rudolph was scheduled for March 10, 2024.
