Shantoya Robinson, a 39-year-old resident of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, tragically lost her life on August 20, 2021. The incident occurred in the 600 block of NW 15th Terrace near NW 6th Street around 8 p.m. According to the Fort Lauderdale police, Robinson was shot during a confrontation involving a large group of people. The altercation escalated when someone pulled out a gun and fired, hitting Robinson.
Despite being rushed to Broward Health Medical Center by a friend, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.
The investigation into Robinson's death revealed that the shooting was a result of a fight among a group of individuals. The police received a 911 call reporting the shooting, but by the time they arrived at the scene, Robinson had already been transported to the hospital. Authorities believe that the chaotic nature of the fight made it difficult to immediately identify the shooter.
