Johnisha Williams, a 34-year-old resident of Jacksonville, Florida, tragically lost her life on April 29, 2022. She was found dead alongside her siblings, Jordan Williams, 30, and Jamonica Williams, 28, in their Arlington apartment at the River City Landing complex. The three siblings were discovered shot to death, a crime that shocked their family and the local community. The incident prompted an Amber Alert for Johnisha's 8-year-old son, Ja’rell, who was later found safe.
The family described Johnisha and her siblings as inseparable, often referring to them as "The Three Musketeers" due to their close bond.
The primary suspect in this tragic event was Johnisha's boyfriend, Terrell Lewis, who was also the father of her son. Lewis was charged with three counts of second-degree murder following the incident. He was apprehended shortly after the shootings, and during his first court appearance, he was ordered to be held without bond. The family of the victims expressed a mix of relief and sorrow, as they now had to cope with the loss of their loved ones while also dealing with the legal proceedings against Lewis.
The investigation revealed that Lewis had a history of domestic violence. In 2016, Johnisha had obtained a domestic violence injunction against him. On the day of the murders, neighbors reported hearing an argument and a loud noise from the apartment. Following the shootings, Lewis kidnapped his son, which led to the Amber Alert. The boy was found unharmed a few hours later, and he recounted to investigators that he was in the bathroom when he heard the gunshots.
In August 2023, Terrell Lewis pleaded guilty to the triple murder, as well as a separate road rage incident that resulted in another death. He was sentenced to a mandatory 50 years in prison for the murders of Johnisha, Jordan, and Jamonica Williams. The plea deal was reached to avoid further traumatizing Johnisha's son through a lengthy trial process. This resolution brought some closure to the family, although the emotional scars from the tragedy remain deep.
