Joshua Holmes, also known by his stage name 320Popout, was a 21-year-old rapper from Jacksonville, Florida. On the night of June 13, 2022, Holmes was tragically shot and killed at the Shore House Apartments in the Arlington area of Jacksonville. According to reports, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call around 11:15 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Holmes shot in or near his SUV.
Despite efforts to perform CPR and transport him to the hospital, Holmes was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Witnesses reported hearing a man banging on apartment doors and calling for help around the time of the shooting.
Holmes' death has been linked to ongoing gang violence in Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has identified two rival gangs, "3" and "320," as being involved in a series of violent incidents, including Holmes' murder. The feud between these gangs has resulted in multiple shootings and deaths, escalating tensions within the community. Holmes himself was a member of the "320" gang, which has been at the center of this conflict.
In the aftermath of Holmes' death, the investigation has led to several arrests and ongoing legal proceedings. One significant arrest was that of Marcel Johnson, also known as Spazzsobrokee, a fellow rapper and member of the "3" gang. Johnson was charged with second-degree murder and multiple counts of attempted second-degree murder in connection with a separate incident involving the shooting death of 13-year-old Prince Holland. This incident was also attributed to the gang rivalry between "3" and "320." Johnson's arrest was seen as a major development in the efforts to curb gang violence in Jacksonville, with law enforcement officials promising further action against those involved in the ongoing feud.
The investigation into Holmes' murder is still active, with police continuing to seek information and leads. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has not released specific details about suspects or motives directly related to Holmes' death, but the broader context of gang violence provides a significant backdrop to the case. Community members and law enforcement alike are calling for an end to the violence and for justice to be served for Holmes and other victims of gang-related crimes in the area.
