Dean Demetress Mitchell, a 23-year-old African American man, was tragically killed by gunfire in west Orlando on August 9, 2022. The incident occurred around 7:32 p.m. in the 1800 block of Baywood Avenue. Deputies from the Orange County Sheriff's Office responded to calls about a shooting and found Mitchell suffering from gunshot wounds.
