Deputy Game Warden George Thompson, aged 48, tragically lost his life on September 1, 1928, near Pennington, Sutter County, California. Thompson was performing his duties as a game warden when he encountered a hunter on the Colusa-Pennington Road, approximately half a mile east of Pennington Church.
