George Everett Davis, a 35-year-old sergeant with the Alhambra Police Department, tragically lost his life on January 3, 1964, while responding to a robbery in progress at the American Mutual Savings & Loan on East Main Street in Alhambra, California. Sergeant Davis was shot and killed by one of the two suspects involved in the robbery. The suspect used a female employee as a shield before firing the fatal shot.
