David Arthur Jack, a 21-year-old police officer with the California State Police, tragically lost his life on October 21, 1974, while patrolling the Los Angeles Dispatch Center. Officer Jack was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound to his head in an office doorway at the center. His service revolver remained holstered, indicating that he had been ambushed. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
