Denise Louie, a 21-year-old urban planning student at the University of Washington, tragically lost her life on September 4, 1977, during the infamous Golden Dragon massacre in San Francisco's Chinatown. The massacre occurred at the Golden Dragon Restaurant, where Denise and other innocent bystanders were caught in the crossfire of a gang-related shooting.
