David Michael Ferreira, a one-year-old boy from Sacramento, California, tragically lost his life on January 27, 1978. His death was part of a horrific series of murders committed by Richard Trenton Chase, infamously known as the "Vampire of Sacramento." On that fateful day, Chase entered the home of Evelyn Miroth, who was babysitting David. Chase brutally murdered Evelyn, her six-year-old son Jason, and a family friend named Dan Meredith.
