Brian Maggiore, aged 20, and his wife Katie were tragically murdered on February 2, 1978, in Rancho Cordova, a suburb of Sacramento, California. The couple was out for an evening walk with their dog when they were confronted by an armed assailant. Brian was shot first, and as Katie attempted to flee, she was chased down and also fatally shot.
